Georgia Training Center

Georgia Training Center (GTC) provides comprehensive training programs in Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Assistant, and Nurse Aide. The Nurse Aide Training Program offers three options: Traditional, Blended, and Weekend courses. The program is approved by the state of Georgia through the Department of Community Health.

The Nursing Assistant (CNA) program prepares students to work in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and personal care homes. The course covers essential skills, including taking vitals, assisting with bathing, dressing, feeding, and more. Upon completion of the state-certified program, students are eligible to sit for the board certification.

To enroll, students must meet specific requirements, including a clear criminal background check, full COVID vaccination, a valid government-issued ID, a social security card, negative PPD test or chest X-ray, negative drug screen, ability to pass a physical exam, and be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or GED is not required, but proficiency in English is necessary.

The tuition includes textbooks, workbooks (for the Traditional course), TB skin test, background check, drug screen, liability insurance, and CPR/First Aid training. Additional costs for students include a physical exam, uniform, and state testing fee.

The Traditional CNA course is a 6-week program held Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 12 noon, costing $900 with a $400 deposit. GTC also offers a Payment Plan option. The Blended Learning (Online) course spans 6 weeks, with the first three weeks online and the remaining three weeks in-person for lab and clinical training, also costing $900 with a $400 deposit. The Weekend CNA course takes place over 6 weeks, with classes on Saturdays and Sundays, costing $1000 with a $400 deposit.

GTC emphasizes the importance of reviewing their refund policy before registering for any classes. Students can check the availability of upcoming class dates on the GTC course calendar.

The Nurse Aide Training Program at GTC opens doors to various career opportunities, with statistics indicating an average CNA salary in Georgia ranging from $14 to $27 per hour. Graduates have the flexibility to work in hospitals, private duty, physician practices, home health, personal care homes, and nursing homes. Additionally, GTC provides Job Alerts on their Facebook page to keep students informed about potential employment opportunities.
